Meet Randy G. McKee
Randy George McKee is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude from Xavier University. He is also a graduate of Tulane University Law School. He has 20 years of experience and maintains practice areas in Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Business Law, Municipal Finance, Real Estate and Estate Planning.
Mr. McKee has extensive courtroom experience in personal injury matters, insurance disputes, construction disputes and workers’ compensation matters. He utilizes these skills to provide maximum value to clients in resolving matters in a cost efficient manner.
Presently, he serves as General Counsel to the St. Helena Parish School Board and as counsel to Xavier University on various matters. Mr. McKee represents various businesses, developers, construction companies, architects and engineers in litigation, development and rezoning matters. In this capacity, he also advises businesses on organizational issues, partnership agreements and various commercial agreements.
In his municipal finance practice, Mr. McKee advises issuers, underwriters and institutions regarding the issuance of municipal bonds. Presently, his firm serves as co-bond counsel for the Board of Liquidation for the City of New Orleans. He has served as co-underwriters counsel, co-bond counsel and issuer’s counsel in bond deals with the City of New Orleans, Regional Transit Authority, New Orleans Aviation Board, Louisiana Community Development Authority, Orleans Parish School Board, St. Helena Parish School Board and the City of Atlanta Airport. He conducts due diligence of issuers in bond deals and assists in the drafting of Official Statements in bond deals. He is also listed in the Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace Directory (“The Red Book”).
Further, Mr. McKee also represents real estate developers and investors in real estate transactions, development, leases and litigation involving tax credits and other financing instruments. He has also represented banks, businesses and other parties in foreclosures, expropriation proceedings and commercial leases.
Mr. McKee also represents the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) in select litigation matters. In this role, he advises the RTA on a variety of matters, including litigation matters, regulatory matters and compliance issues. He has successfully tried cases for the agency in state court involving personal injury claims and before arbitration panels involving construction disputes. Further, he has previously managed outside law firms responsible for litigation matters for the RTA. His work also included drafting board resolutions, commercial agreements, cooperative endeavor agreements and shareholder agreements.
McKee represents parties in succession matters and estate planning. He drafts wills, powers of attorney, living wills and trusts. In this area, he also advises clients regarding creditor claims, life insurance and health insurance.
McKee served as a United States Bankruptcy Chapter 7 Trustee for several years. In that capacity, he dealt with fundamental issues such as recovering and liquidating assets for the benefit of creditors, servicing and collecting obligations and implementing other enforcement procedures to exercise creditors’ rights in a comprehensive manner.
